Child Support Services uses a variety of methods to enforce support orders. We can:
- Direct employers to withhold a portion of wages
- Request federal and state tax refunds be intercepted
- Administratively levy against accounts at financial institutions
- Garnish wages and assets
- Restrict the issuance of drivers' licenses or suspend drivers' licenses
- Make referrals to credit agencies
- Obtain contempt of court orders against delinquent payors
Who is eligible to receive services from Child Support Services?
Public Assistance Cases
- Parents who are receiving public assistance benefits (also known as TANF), Medicaid benefits, and/or foster care.
Non-Public Assistance Cases
- Parents who do not receive public assistance.
- Parents who live outside Douglas County Nebraska and in other states, but need services because the non-custodial parent lives here.
