Child Support Services uses a variety of methods to enforce support orders. We can:

  • Direct employers to withhold a portion of wages
  • Request federal and state tax refunds be intercepted
  • Administratively levy against accounts at financial institutions
  • Garnish wages and assets
  • Restrict the issuance of drivers' licenses or suspend drivers' licenses
  • Make referrals to credit agencies
  • Obtain contempt of court orders against delinquent payors

Who is eligible to receive services from Child Support Services?

Public Assistance Cases

  • Parents who are receiving public assistance benefits (also known as TANF), Medicaid benefits, and/or foster care.

Non-Public Assistance Cases

  • Parents who do not receive public assistance.
  • Parents who live outside Douglas County Nebraska and in other states, but need services because the non-custodial parent lives here.
